Remi Garde demands unity from new Aston Villa squad

Remi Garde insists English will be the only language spoken in the Aston Villa dressing room as he seeks to revive the club's season.
Villa prop up the Premier League with just four points from their opening 11 games following the 3-1 defeat to Tottenham on Monday Night Football.

Garde was at White Hart Lane to watch his new side having been confirmed as Tim Sherwood's successor earlier in the day, but he has moved to cool reports he will give preferential treatment to his French compatriots in the dressing room.
Garde has inherited nearly £35m of players recruited from Ligue 1 in the summer in Jordan Ayew, Idrissa Gueye, Jordan Veretout and Jordan Amavi and although he expects them to feel more settled with a French manager, he says they must adapt to life in England.

They will feel better, but my problem is not the French players, my problem is the team, the team results, so I won't care more about the French players than I will with the English or Spanish or Africans.
"I don't want anybody speaking French in the dressing room, for example, because it's very important that we understand each other, but it's also important that the English players speak slowly sometimes at the beginning. Everybody has to make efforts to be a team.
